This workshop will provide you with a basic understanding of what it takes to establish a Non-Profit organization. This workshop will provide you with a basic understanding of what it takes to establish a Non-Profit organization.
Non-Profits encompass a wide variety of entities including Educational Institutions; Health Care Organizations; Political Organizations; Religious Institutions, as well as Charitable Groups. The IRS has identified 34 distinct types of Non-Profit organizations.
Here are some unique characteristics of non-Profits compared to For-Profit Corporations:
- Exempt from certain types of taxation: Income Taxes, Sales Taxes & Property Tax.
- They are established to fulfill a stated Mission
- They have no Stockholder, Ownership or Dividends issued
- Directors are not compensated
- They place a great reliance on Volunteers, as well as employees.

- Writing Your Business Plan/Establishing a Legal form
- Creating an Organizational Infrastructure
- Identifying Potential Resources through Fundraising, Grant Writing and Donations

- Gaining 501(C) 3 Acceptance
