Become a Volunteer
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” — Margaret Mead
Want to learn new marketable skills? Do you have skills you aren’t using consistently and want to keep current? The Professional Development Collaborative may be able to help. We are increasing our volunteer base and looking for people to contribute to our goal of offering affordable trainings for professionals.
Volunteering with PDC is an opportunity to do something new or to practice and sharpen skills you already have. Experience shows that volunteering and using the skills you will use in a new job gives you an edge in job hunting.
This is an opportunity for you to be proactive in your professional development while increasing your marketability to employers. We have several time-limited projects you can help with such as fundraising, writing articles for the E-zine, (PDC’s electronic newsletter), creating web content relevant to growing your professional development, creating videos for the website, and planning workshops. You can devote an hour a week or more, if you choose and work on a number of projects.
