Consider Volunteering

Want to learn new marketable skills? Do you have skills you aren’t using consistently and want to keep current?

The Professional Development Collaborative may be able to help. We are increasing our volunteer base and looking for people to contribute to our goal of offering affordable trainings for professionals.

Volunteering with PDC could become an opportunity to do something new or to practice and sharpen skills you already have. Experience shows that volunteering and using the skills you will use in a new job gives you an edge in job hunting. This is an opportunity for you to be proactive in your professional development while increasing your marketability to employers. We have several time limited projects you can help with such as creating a lending library with instructional CD’s, writing articles and creating videos for the website, and planning workshops.

Other new projects include:

  • Creating a mentor program for job seekers
  • Supervising interns
  • Creating webinars
  • Fundraising
  • Growing our web presence

You may be able to add to the list of projects! If you are savvy in these areas and would like to contribute a few hours per week or for a specific period of time, send an email to contact@pdcboston.org  and let us hear about your interests.

To our current volunteers, thank you!

We all negotiate on a daily basis!  Specialists debate between win-lose and win-win tactics but the reality for most people is that they often leave money on the table or feel like they didn’t end up in the best position after a tough negotiation. If this sounds like you, you’ll gain from hearing an expert on negotiations.
